COTN Bracketology wise it was quite the finish. The man who was in 11th place came back in extra time to win the whole thing. This year's winner is Kirk Boettcher (the father of a friend of mine, Alissa Maxwell. Kirk correctly picked Spain as the champions, beating about ten people who were in front of him going into the final game. Unfortunately they were all left out of the leader board by a rather poor Dutch showing. Below are the top 3 finishers, along with how much their winnings are: (Winnings were based on percent of total entry fees collected)
1. Kirk Boettcher, $165.75.
2. Trevor Lane, $63.75
3. Ryan Maxwell, $25.50 (Ryan is the brother-in-law of Alissa, Kirk's daughter. Must be some futbol knowledge floating around those family reunions!)In last place was Cassie Bauman. For this honor she receives her $5 entry fee back. Congratulations Cassie!
Along with the entry fees collected many, many donations came in. Many of you went above and beyond the suggested $5. Thanks you. And to everyone, thank you for your part in the $665.00 that were raised. A check in this amount will be written to COTN this week in the Honor of Kirk Boettcher.
Congratulations to everyone who played. It was an enjoyable way to be a part of such a fun world-wide event. And thank you so much for your support of my ministry at COTN. You have blessed me more than monetarily. I'm forever grateful.
Blessing to everyone, and be watch your inboxes come 2014. Maybe we'll have to do it all over again!
